The Presbytery of Genesee Valley Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training Program is a mandatory educational training program designed to continue our collective learning and growth in understanding and living into healthy relational boundaries.

2024 Training Dates & Details
The following people are required to take this training in 2024:
1.) All Ministers of Word and Sacrament who are members of the Presbytery or have permission to labor within its bounds
2.) All Inquirers and Candidates for Ministry
3.) All Certified Christian Educators
4.) All Commissioned Pastors
5.) All Presbytery employees
6.) All individuals approved for the Pulpit Supply List
7.) All individuals serving on the Committee on Ministry
8.) All individuals serving on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry
9.) All individuals serving on the Pastoral Care Committee (or its successor)
10.) All individuals serving on the Big Picture Team
11.) All individuals serving on the PGV Personnel Committee
12.) All individuals serving on the PGV Permanent Judicial Commission
13.) All individuals serving on the PGV Trustees
After the initial training in 2024, individuals are required to be recertified at a minimum of every three years.

One week prior to the training, all registrants will receive an email containing a description of “homework” that shall be completed prior to the training.

- Option #2: Thursdays, April 25 and May 2, 2024, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Option #3: Tuesdays, June 4 and June 11, 2021, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Note: You must attend both classes to complete the training.

NOTE: Training sessions can be taken in any order, all sessions must be taken by 12/31/24.
NOTE: In the event that an individual fails to complete this mandatory training, the appropriate council, committee, or overseeing body will be informed, including the Master Insurance Policy carrier if applicable, and clergy cards will be withheld when applicable. The Presbytery and/or its committees may impose additional consequences including being placed on unpaid administrative leave, change in membership status, or exclusion from certain forms of service within the Presbytery until such training is completed.
NOTE: The annual mandated NYS Employee Sexual Harassment Training is offered separately from the PGV hosted training listed above. That training and certification meets NYS requirements and will need to be completed separately.
