Downtown Arts Community PRISM Concert

October 13 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

The Downtown United Presbyterian Church (DUPC) continues its 50th Anniversary celebration with a Downtown Arts Community PRISM Concert, showcasing arts community members and organizations associated with their facility. A free-will offering will benefit the ROCMusic Collaborative: an “El Sistema” inspired program providing free lessons, ensemble experience, instruments, and performance opportunities to Rochester youth.

The concert takes place in the beautiful, historic DUPC sanctuary, with performances ranging from soloists to small ensembles, choruses, dance, and short theatre pieces. This remarkable performance in PRISM style features performances from different corners of the sanctuary, proceeding from one 5-minute presentation to the next without applause until the end of the approximately 75-minute program.

Featured performers include: Off Monroe Players, Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus, Rochester Women’s Community Chorus, Thomas Warfield, Open Road Theater, the Spiritus Christi Gospel Choir, the DUPC Chancel Choir, First Inversion, Pegasus Early Music, Hochstein Chamber Music, ROCMusic Studio Strings, Eastman organist Aaron Tan, The Mount Hope World Singers, Alan Jones, and Phyl Contestable.
