The First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford is looking for a Children and Youth Ministry Administrator. The position is temporary (10-12 months) and part time (20 hours/week). The purpose of this position is to carry out the majority of the administrative responsibilities associated with our church’s children and youth ministry programs. Applicants should have strong writing and communication skills, be task- and detail-oriented, and be able to take directions. Responsibilities would primarily be completed remotely, but some office hours will be expected to allow for collaboration with other church staff. The position is a support role and not forward-facing (i.e., not working directly with children and youth but communicating electronically with them and/or their parents). TITLE:  Children and Youth Ministry Administrative Assistant


PURPOSE:  The Children and Youth Admin carries out the majority of the administrative responsibilities associated with the children and youth ministry programs.

ACCOUNTABILITY:  The Children and Youth Admin works with the Director of Christian Education and the Associate Pastor and is supervised by the Associate Pastor.

HOURS AND POSITION LENGTH: The Children and Youth Admin position is a temporary position for 12 months at 20 hours/week.

    • Send email to parents of youth
    • Send email to parents of young children
    • Send email to Sunday School teachers
  • As Needed
    • Email/text/call confirmands and mentors (keep up with requirements)
    • Create social media content for Facebook and pre-worship slideshow
    • Manage RSVP’s (including follow-up) and reservations for youth events
    • Prepare newsletter and Canva advertisements for youth events
    • Create and maintain a First Presbyterian Church Youth Instagram account
  • Print pictures taken at youth events and update bulletin boards upstairs and down

    • Prepare Sunday School rooms for Sunday use
    • Set up for Confirmation
    • Set up for LOGOS (our mid-week after-school program)
  • As Needed
    • Purchase supplies for youth events
    • Schedule and pay for reservations for youth events
    • Clean and organize (Christian Education supply room, youth room)
    • Stock soda and snacks, ice tea and water in the youth room fridge
    • Complete administrative tasks and paper work for mission experiences, including keeping track of completed mission hours for youth
