Position: We are seeking a full time, solo pastor for Ogden Presbyterian Church in Spencerport, NY. Spencerport is located about 15 minutes from downtown Rochester. Our membership is about 165 with the average worship attendance at 60.
Leadership characteristics needed:
- Focused leader, providing a message that helps people grow in faith
- Open-minded and accepting of people from all walks of life—able to speak up whenever diverse groups of people are negatively stigmatized.
- Leads a life reflective of Christian values, to be faithful, honest and trustworthy
- Willingness to learn and grow as a person
- Commitment to pastoral care
- Believes in the power of prayer
- Strong faith and Biblical knowledge
Vision for Ogden: We at Ogden Presbyterian Church are committed to reaching out to all areas within our surrounding communities with hope of growing our faith and building God’s kingdom. The basis for this is our vision to “learn what Jesus knew and do what Jesus did.” This has created helping hands and open hearts to be involved in many activities which extend in a variety of directions.
Current status of OPC: The transition process has been completed under the direction of a transitional pastor. This included the creation of our Mission Study. This pastor has taken another call and we have been fortunate to have excellent pulpit supply pastors. Our PNC has completed our MIF (available on request) and is actively evaluating several PIF’s.
