The Presbytery of Genesee Valley (PGV) is serious about preventing and responding to sexual misconduct within the context of the church. Following the July 2023 adoption of the policy, Understanding Sexual Misconduct: A Living Policy to Expand the Conversation for a Faithful Response to Boundary Violations, all individuals serving in ministry in any capacity in PGV are required to complete a 3-part training in 2024.

This 90-min workshop regarding the Policy, the Procedure Manual, the Behavioral Covenant and the Child Safety Policy, will satisfy one of those three required parts to which, together, meet the Book of Order’s mandate that all councils “shall include requirements for boundary training which includes the topic of sexual misconduct, and child sexual abuse prevention training for its members at least every 36 months.” (G-3.0106) This educational training continues our collective learning and growth in understanding and living into healthy, relational boundaries.
