At the October 25,2022 STATED Presbytery Meeting the recommendations brought by the Parkminster Administrative Council in concert with the congregation were approved. This included authorizing the sale of the church premises, the distribution of assets in a manner acceptable to all interested parties, and dissolution of the church effective 12/31/22.
In honor of Parkminster’s long-standing mission relationships and to provide encouragement to small congregations the following was also approved:
- Establishing a Parkminster Legacy Fund which would make available Transformational Grants to be awarded to small congregations of fewer than 100 members for projects that promote positive change, are creative and innovative, and have a reasonable chance of success
- Distributing remaining assets to long-standing ministries supported by Parkminster Presbyterian Church such as Servants In Fellowship (Haiti), Samaritan’s Purse, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Young Life, Compass Care, Open Door Mission, Hope Dealers, Flower City Outreach, Uganda Water Project, and others
The final service of worship at the Parkminster Presbyterian Church will be held on Sunday, November 20, at 10:30 a.m., 2710 Chili Avenue, Rochester, NY 14624.
