Moderator Kay VanNostrand moderator@pbygenval.org |
Kay graduated from Brockport State Teachers College in 1964 and taught Physical Education, grades K-7, for 33 years in Medina. Since retirement Kay has been very active with Orleans Habitat for Humanity, presently serving as hands-on Vice President and member of the construction committee. Kay is a direct Care volunteer for Hospice of Orleans, an Elder at Lyndonville PC where she has been Clerk of Session for 5 years and has been a member of the Presbytery Board of Trustees. Kay has been honored to have been part of three RHINO work trips to New Orleans. In her free time Kay likes to travel, work in the yard, read and work on her model train layout. Kay shares her home with Mr. Micki, a handsome and lively cocker spaniel. |
| The Moderator presides of meetings of the Presbytery and at all clergy installations. The Moderator is a member of Council and a commissioner to the General Assembly. In addition to the duties and powers given by the Book of Order (G-9.0202), the Moderator may be given special responsibilities as approved by presbytery. The Moderator chairs the Council during the year after leaving office. | ||

| The Moderator-Elect of Presbytery is elected at the March meeting, installed during the May Meeting, and takes office on July 1 for a term of two years, one year as Moderator-Elect and one as Moderator. The Moderator-Elect presides over the meeting of Presbytery at the request of, or in the absence of, the Moderator. The Moderator-Elect is a member of Council and facilitator of the Budget Development and Oversight Committee. The Moderator-Elect co-ordinates the worship components of all Presbytery meetings, staffs the New Business Committee and provides Tellers. |

Val is pastor for Honeoye Falls, First. Previously he served Chili, First for 12 years and pastorates in Texas and Oklahoma. A folk guitar and vocal musician, Val has dedicated his talent to providing benefit concerts for congregations and mission projects. His wife is Carol, and his stepchildren are Mandy and Brendan. |
| The Stated Clerk is responsible for maintaining the minutes and the rolls of the presbytery and for official correspondence. The stated clerk defends and interprets the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He takes minutes for the Council and the Committee on Ministry, and consults with them on polity issues. | ||

Treasurer Pro-Tem |

| The Treasurer receives all funds payable to the presbytery and disburses all funds within the adopted budget of the presbytery. Extra-budget disbursements are made only by order of the presbytery. The Treasurer is an ex-officio member of the Council. The Treasurer serves as a resource to the Administration Committee and the Trustees, and is responsible for arranging for the annual financial review of the presbytery’s records. |
